Reshoring for Resilience Post Covid-19?

Supply Chain guru, Professor Richard Wilding, OBE, explains supply chain challenges during Covid-19 in the latest edition of Delivered – The Global Logistics Magazine. A key finding is procurement for resilience rather than cost. This indicates that there could be opportunities for near-shoring which will allow organisations to develop stronger relationships with supply chain partners. Such a policy would also provide up-skilling opportunities for the local workforce and strengthening of the local market through significant reductions in distribution costs. This will also have an impact on the CO2 footprint. Big wins all round!
